Is sex therapy only for people with sexual dysfunctions?

No. Many people come to sex therapy because they want to understand their desires more deeply, feel more confident in their body, communicate better with a partner, or shed years of shame. Sexual dysfunction — erectile difficulties, vaginismus, low libido, anorgasmia — is something we can address. But so is the quiet disconnection that doesn't have a clinical name. If something in your sex life isn't working for you, that's reason enough to explore it.

Do I need to be in a relationship to benefit from sex therapy?

Not at all. Most clients come alone. Your sexuality is not just about what happens with a partner — it's your relationship with your own body, desires, self-worth, and pleasure. Solo work is often where the most profound shifts happen. Whether you're single, dating, partnered, or somewhere in between, sex therapy is about you first.

I blend mindfulness, cognitive-behavioural approaches, and somatic awareness, tailored to you specifically. Sessions are 45 to 60 minutes, held online.

I've lost my libido — what can I do?

This is more common than you think, and it's almost never just physical. Libido responds to stress, sleep, self-worth, relationship dynamics, hormones, and how safe you feel in your own body. In sessions, we explore what's sitting underneath the loss of desire — because there's almost always something there. The goal is to reconnect with your body on its own terms, not to manufacture something artificial.

I experience performance anxiety — can sex therapy help?

Yes, and you're far from alone. Performance anxiety is one of the most common concerns I work with, for people of all genders. The anxiety often started long before the bedroom — in early messages about what sex is supposed to look like, in the habit of watching yourself instead of feeling yourself. We work on shifting attention from performance to presence, rebuilding trust in the body, and breaking the thought loops that take you out of the experience.

Yes. Sexual trauma shapes how we relate to our bodies, desire, and intimacy, often in ways we don't fully recognise. I work with trauma-informed approaches that prioritise your safety and pace — we never rush toward anything. The goal is to help you rebuild a relationship with your body and sexuality that feels like yours again. If your needs require clinical trauma therapy beyond my scope, I'll be transparent about that and support you in finding appropriate care.

They're deeply, inseparably linked. Anxiety contracts desire. Depression flattens libido. Low self-worth shapes how available you are to pleasure. Conversely, a healthy, shame-free relationship with your sexuality can genuinely support your mental health — through nervous system regulation, through the connection that comes with intimacy, through the self-knowing that comes with honest exploration. This is why I take a holistic approach: your sexuality doesn't exist apart from the rest of your life.
